Vegas heroes saved countless lives in grocery store shooting.

During a recent shooting that left two people dead in a grocery store, a couple of Las Vegas heroes rose to the occasion saved countless lives.

. As chaos erupted and gunfire echoed through the store, terrified shoppers scrambled for cover. Merconie Clark and Darius Alston tackled the shooter, and one had to jump in and save the other one, as they wrestled the shooter for the gun. Like something out of a movie.

They saved each other's lives, and the lives of countless others that day. The RIGHT heroes, running INTO danger, in the right place at the right time.

According to reports, witnesses described scenes of confusion and fear as customers hid in aisles, fled through exits, and tried to protect one another while police rushed to the scene.

Then came the moments people in the store are unlikely to forget; two people murdered in a domestic dispute, in the middle of the day, while grocery shopping.

Yet within that fear and confusion, witnesses say they also saw something else: strangers helping strangers in the middle of a nightmare.

In a city often associated with spectacle and excess, the most remarkable moments sometimes happen far away from the Strip — in checkout lines, parking lots, and ordinary neighborhoods where people suddenly find themselves forced to make split-second decisions.

Because sometimes the difference between tragedy and something even worse comes down to the actions of people who never expected to become heroes.
